This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Since I'm a die hard Marines fan, my favorite player has to be Makoto Kosaka. Everyone knows he has great speed and defense, but I just love his bunting and approach at the plate. Even for Japan, he's of very small stature at 168 cm. He won the 1997 Rookie of the Year, coming out of the industrial leagues. In addition to that, he won the stolen base title in 1998 and 2000, and Gold Gloves from 1999-2001.
If Saburo keeps batting the way he is as the #4 batter, he may have a shot as my second favorite player.
