Hello, die-hard Marines fan here. I think the change-ups and sinkers here in Japan are much more devastating than those in Korea. Lee-Seung Yeop has needed time to adjust to the offspeed pitches, and still you will often see him waaay out front in a ridiculous fashion. Like, on his knees.
He has never really had much problem dealing with fastballs. He can turn on those quickly; and when he does, watch out!
I sit with the Marines' hard-core supporters in the right field stands, and even there you can sometimes feel anxiety when Lee Seung Yeop is at the plate with two strikes against a good changeup/sinkerball pitcher.
Japanese pitchers are just really good at this trick pitch stuff. Even in the Majors.
