Kudoh Breaks CL Hitless Record
In his memorial 180th career victory game last night (July 20), the Giants' 39 year old veteran Kimiyasu Kudoh went 0 for 3, marking an 0 for 82 streak that started the year he jumped to the Central League in 2000. His only career hit came in his second game that year, April 11th against Hanshin.

The Central League record used to be held by Hanshin's Choho (Iho? 猪保 ) who went 0 for 79 between 1987 and '90. The NPB record is held by the pre-DH Pacific League Toei Flyers' (now Nippon Ham) Saga who went 90 at bats without a hit between 1964 and '65.

The old record in the CL was held by Inomata of the Hanshin Tigers.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
