Japan Cruises Past Phillipines 10-0 in Asian Qualifier Nighcap
Japan easily dispatched with the Filipino national team 10-0 in last’s nights Asian Olympic Qualifier match up in Taichung. Starting Pitcher Wakui Hideaki breezed through six scoreless innings against a badly overmatched Philippines squad that managed only one hit. Kobayashi Masahide pitched a perfect seventh to end the game.

I noticed that Japan wasn't fooled at all by the Philippines' pitching in a couple innings. Is it just me or did it seem like Japan extended the game a bit for Wakui to get in a decent number of pitches? It seemed like they could've ended the game in a couple innings from the way they manhandled the starter in the first inning.
