With Kousei Gakuin winning it all, Tohoku is awarded the Meiji Jingu bid. The semifinalists were Hanamaki Higashi and Aomori Yamada. Although Aomori Yamada has not been to Koushien in several years, Hanamaki Higashi took Kousei Gakuin to the limit.
