This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

And like an afternoon siesta, one could say that this game was a relative yawner.
Seibou would open the scoring in the bottom of the 1st with a 2-out solo homerun to LF off of submariner Inouchi. In the 2nd a 2-out double by P Oostuka was followed by 2 more consecutive hits by LF Yamazaki and C Haramo to drive him in.
On the other side, it wasn't necessarily that Ootsuka wasn't overpowering more than Komatsushima's offense was absent. There were some chances to close the gap though.
In the 3rd, LF Kumagawa singled to center. He was moved along, and last batter 1B Murakami was hit on a 0-1 count. But leadoff batter Shinomoto would line unto a 3 unassisted DP to end the inning.
In the 4th, SS Takeda singled to right and C Yamaguchi would walk on 4 straight. And while a mishandled ball would advance the runners, they couldn't bring them in.
Finally in the 5th, Kumagawa led things off with a grounder past 3B Shinozaki. Ace Inouchi couldn't advance the runner. Murakami hit a grounder up the middle which looked like a sure DP, but if bounds off SS Onagi and into shallow RCF. Murakami tries to stretch it out for 2, but CF Etou would get to it quickly and fire it back to Onagi for the out.
And that was pretty much it. Seibou advances with a 2-0 victory into the next round.
