Already being called "The Uzi" by some for his 104 MPH fastball, .... At age fourteen, he was the youngest player invited to the WBC squad trials and - though he was out on the last day - he made a lasting impression with his 17 Ks in 7 innings of work during intrasquad matches.I find it hard to believe a 14 year old throws faster than Marc Kroon, and there weren't trials for the WBC - at least not in Japan. Players were hand picked by a committee.
This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

New to the site. I'm looking for any information on a young Japanese high school pitcher named Kazuo Uzuki. A baseball card company has issued a card of this young fellow. However to date I have not been able to find any information on him. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
He was born in Sarufutsu, Japan.
