This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Last summer's champion, Waseda Sojitsu was eliminated by Horikoshi 9-6 in the West Tokyo region.
Yesterday, Osaka-area perennial powerhouse PL Gakuen was bounced from their bracket. Sho Nakata's strong Osaka Toin team is still very much alive in that prefecture, however. That squad has been steamrolling everyone who has dared stand in their way so far.
We know 6 of the 49 finalists so far, with the most notable school gaining entry so far being Hokkaido's Komadai Tomakomai.
When the field is complete on August 1st, Westbay-san and I will provide a full list of participants. Until then, I will continue to update this forum with any notable performances or happenings.
