Good luck to Giants fans with the addition of John "Way Back" Wasdin. The nick name came from the amount of times Red Sox Radio voice Jerry Trupiano was forced into his "Waaaay Baaack!" home run call when every Wasdin took the mound for the Sox

Noticed that Wasdin had a 6+ERA in his first few starts in training and, according to the Boston Herald, is complaining about the oendan as a distraction. "I may have to stick cigarette butts in my ears." he's quoted. Have they developed a Japanese equivilent to WAAAAAYYYYYYY BAAAAAACK!!!! yet?

Wasdin is a nice guy with a great fastball...but it has absolutely no movement...fast, straight and down the middle leads to very happy hitters (especially in a close game. Colorado had nothing to do with Way Backs problems.

Here's something interesting. Looking at this guys yearly totals, he should be a good(not great or terrible) addition to the Giants. Mostly a middle relief guy. Can't really blame him from wanting to get out of Colorda last year though. That place is just evil for pitchers. Still, his walk/strike out ratio is pretty good. In his career of 258 games (only 42 started) he walked 184 while wiffing 416. We'll see...
