- He did fail a drug test in 2003, but it was not a MLB sanctioned test, so I don't believe he was punished.
He didn't get punished for it since andro wasn't banned in the U.S. at the time.
- I wonder how much Nippon Ham paid the Padres to buyout his contract? Anyone know?
It can't be much, I wouldn't say it was anymore than $300,000. He wasn't going to be part of the Padres' 2008 plans anyway, seeing as how they released him.
