Hanshin In Negotiations With Australian Olympic Team Pitcher
The Hanshin Tigers are looking into acquiring San Diego Padres' right handed pitcher Chris Oxspring. Oxspring was on the 2004 Australian Olympic baseball team, and was called up by the Padres in late 2005. You can see more about him on his MLB.com profile page. Hanshin team president Toshihiro Makita stated, "We've just started negotiations over the phone. We're hoping to get him signed in early December." [Original article from Nikkan Sports (in Japanese)]

The Hanshin Tigers will try to get another outstanding performance out of another Australian pitcher. If he shows half of the stuff like Jeff Williams, he should be fine. Good choice for the Tigers.
