Three in a Row
Kokubo (3-run), Matsunaka, and Nieves slammed three home runs back to back to back last night for the first time in the history of the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks. The last time that the franchise had done that was under the name of the Nankai Hawks back on August 2nd, 1981 against the Seibu Lions.

That put the Hawks up 8-0 in the second inning. Orix answered with two in the bottom of the 2nd, but Nieves homered for a second time, this time from the other side of the plate, in the top of the 4th make the score 9-2. The top of the 5th saw Matsunaka hit his second home run of the game, a three run shot, to put the game far out of reach at 12-2.

Ichiro, 2 for 4 with a solo shot in the 7th inning raised his average to .390. But that's about all the Kobe fans had to cheer about. Daiei finished the game with a 13-3 victory.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
