Great show as usual.

Two things:

1. I think that the reason Ochiai-kantoku sent out a rookie against the Giants is because the press was just observing a large number of 初先発初勝利 (first start, first win) hurlers defeating the Giants this season. It strikes me that this happens a lot to the Giants, which is why they have so much trouble in inter-league. If they don't see a pitcher many times before, they can't hit him. Even Kadokura baffled the Giants in his debut with the Dragons so many years ago; then failing to live up to the expectations that his first game made for him.

2. Nikkan Sports published earlier this week that if the Lions and Buffaloes are tied at the end of the season that the deciding factor will be the head to head competition between the two teams. (Was the rule for inter-league that a tie goes to the team with the better winning percentage the previous inter-league season? At least they're focused on this year's results for the season decider.)
