Firstly we have Fujii's traditional shoot his mouth off affair (Daily Sports). After an underwhelming pay rise (2 million yen on 40 million) and a year's extension, Fujii is talking about playing in every game. Dream on - he should certainly get a reasonable amount of playing time but with Komiyama and Hidaka in the frame (the latter not welcome) it won't be every game by a long shot.
Then Hoshino commenting on Fujimani (Sports Hochi). What he had to say was illuminating, suggesting that Tigers coaches and managers crush young pitchers with unnecessary changes. He also counsels doing as little to Fujinami as possible and letting him develop at his own pace. Something Tigers coaches need to learn given their abysmal record with pitchers.
Tigers couldn't do worse than ask Hoshino back and dump all the detritus they have picked up since he left.
