Time to dump Fujii

Of course one can say that the pitchers bear some responsibility but so far with Fujii calling the games Tigers have given up 16 runs and lost 2 and tied one. With Komiyama calling they won two and lost two, none of which the opposition scored over three runs. In Fujii's three games they have given up 5, 3 and 9 runs (of which 15 happened when Fujii was calling). Fujii calls for six innings and then is replaced by Komiyama for the final three by which time the damage is done. But in both the games against the Buffaloes Tigers have managed to stop the run flow once Komiyama takes over and fight back. It's clear who should be the starting catcher so why do Wada and co persist with Fujii. OK then exhibition games aren't that important but surely it must be obvious that Fujii wasn't dumped by Rakuten without a reason. However, one must remember that Fujii is older and is an "experienced" catcher. This counts a lot in the fantasy world that passes for Tigers management. Tigers lost this game 9-5 with a late flurry in the ninth making the score look semi-respectable. If Tigers are to have a reasonable season they need to dump Fujii.

I'm impressed with your analysis, Christopher. You used data to back up what you're saying and have me convinced. This is the kind of argument I'd been hoping you'd use to explain some of your views in the past. Keep up the good fight.
