The heading says it all. Tigers out hit the Lions 9-7 but still failed to convert the runners. Mayumi persists in using anyone but Kanoh as catcher and really his stone headedness is getting rather trying. Kanoh did play at left field with the worthless Fujii catching followed by the even more worthless Shimizu. Tigers only used 4 pitchers with Akiyama and Abe shining. Seibu used six but they certainly got the job done as well. The only run of the game came in the fifth with Tsuru pitching. Shimizu failed to stop a steal and Kataoka supplied the single to bring the runner home. Lin pinch hit in the ninth and supplied a single and Asai (who Mayumi has been reluctant to use) had three hits.
