Tigers open sen has not proven to be particularly successful. However, the final game against the Carp was much more satisfactory (Score 10-6 Tigers). Once again pitching was not satisfactory but here we must question whether the Tigers pitchers are comfortable with Johjima. Nohmi struggled against a second rate offense (the Carp) but the Tigers batters came to the rescue. Toritani hit two home runs, Arai one and Kanemoto a three run home run. Once Nohmi exited the relief took over and ensured the victory. If Tigers starters can get to the sixth innings then the relief pitching will ensure the victory most of the time.

Matt Murton appears to be helping the Tigers offensively this spring. Do you have in numbers (statistics) in English for his batting during open sen?

Here are the few figures that are available (there aren't any in English). Murton's batting average is .354 with two home runs from 14 games. He had 48 plate appearances and 17 hits. He drove in three RBIs and struck out 9 times. Walks were 3 in number and he stole second once. His OBP is .417. This average is the second highest in the team (only Toritani is higher) and has cemented Murton's place as leadoff batter. His hitting streak was eight games with two hits yesterday, a hit to left in his first at bat and a hit to right in his third. I hope this helps.
