Daisuke and his wife Tomoyo have one daughter. Tomoyo is a former network television broadcaster in Japan. Daisuke was born on September 13, 1980 and graduation from Yokohama High School in 1998. The year after representing Japan to the first championship of the WBC (World Baseball Classic), Daisuke moved to North America to play for the Boston Red Sox. Sporting the nickname "Dice-K," Matsuzaka is a very good pitcher and is trying his hardest to reverse the curse for the Red Sox (if it hasn't already be lifted).
