Pro Ball vs University Ball

Pro Ball vs University Ball
To mark the 60th anniversary of Central and Pacific Leagues there are now plans to host a series of games between NPB teams and university teams. The pro teams will play against the Universities in their local areas. The games will be scheduled in July in 2009 during All Star break. This will be the first game between professional baseball and university baseball since 2006.

In November 2006, to mark Jingu's 80th anniversary, the Tokyo Yakult Swallows played the Tokyo Big 6 All Stars. The Swallows barely beat the university boys 3-2 in an almost fully packed chilly November day.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
