This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Iwamura gives the Rays an option at third base, where they could move Upton to short, but the fact than Ben Zobrist [Minor League Baseball] is batting .361 (35-97) with 2 HR and 8 RBI in the Arizona Fall League will see a spot somewhere on the roster.
He could also play at second base, allowing Cantu to move over to first base, or could play in the outfield. Tampa Bay reportedly likes his flexibility and ability to play numerous positions. It is reported that Tampa Bay paid $4.5 million for Iwamura.
Iwamura has a career .300 average with 188 HRs and 570 RBI in 977 games and 3,580 ABs.
