Tadano Traded to A's

Discussion in the Nichi-Bei forum
Tadano Traded to A's
The Cleveland Indians, who designated pitcher Kazuhito Tadano for assignment, traded him to the Oakland A's for minor league outfielder Ramon Alvarado.

Tadano pitched in 1 game with Cleveland last year, having a 2.25 ERA in 4 innings pitched last year. He went 5-5 with 5 SV's and a 4.39 ERA in 32 games with AAA Buffalo last year. He had a 0-1 record with 2 SV's and a 4.05 ERA in 6 games this spring with the Indians.

It seems to me like Tadano was never really given a chance to show what he could do with the Tribe. He was dynamite for Cleveland in the minors, yet he only got a few cups of coffee with the Indians.

The A's might've gotten themselves a steal. Let's face it-GM Billy Beane is a certified genius and probably has the sharpest eye for talent in MLB, so he must've seen something in Tadano that the Indians didn't.

http://deadspin.com/ This website is a sports site that's very sarcastic but very witty and funny at the same time. They have a little blurb on Tadano at the bottom of today's news page. They love to crack jokes about Tadano when they get the chance. It's one of the most popular sports websites in the U.S. right now though.

Yeah, Tadano would be such an easy target for jokes in the macho sports entertainment world. Any publicity is a good thing these days, right?

Anyways, Beane has a real knack for getting undervalued talent in other organizations, and he's shown that with consistently winning teams that aren't too expensive.
