Garland-san's summary of the Hawks' one-hitter against the Giants:
If you've been reading this site this spring, you would have seen how I remarked that the Yomiuri lineup just is not seeming in a productive mood. That reached a nadir Sunday, as they were lucky to avoid being the victims of the first exhibition perfect game in Japanese pro history when Ryota Wakiya singled to center with two gone in the ninth in what concluded as a 5-0 Softbank Hawks triumph at Fukuoka Dome. Tsuyoshi Wada started for the birds of prey and required just 43 pitches to wrap up four innings of no hit ball while striking out five for the win.
