Bring Back Kinkade
Let's bring back Kinkade. I heard he might play over in Korea? Any thoughts? This guy never really got a chance with Hanshin. He got hit too many times.

I remember people were polarised; there were those who said Kinkade got hit on purpose, and those who said the fact his "dead ball" numbers were high was a coindicence.

One thing everyone agreed on, though, was his excellent base-running. His hustle was even dubbed Kinchan-bashiri.

Still, who would you replace with him? Andy Sheets had made the first base spot his own.

I think he doesn't necessarily need to play for Hanshin, but any team in Japan could use his bat, fielding skills, and knowledge of the game. I looked up his numbers in the States and he is doing well. I know there was an article stating "he loved being in Japan and loved how the fans support baseball." I also read there is some interest in Korea to aquire him. Guess we will have to wait and see where he goes.

Mike Kincaid is playing for the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Florida Marlins AAA team. He is starting and is hitting .264.

Beats playing in Korea.

Are you really sure it really beats playing in Korea? What role is Kinkade playing in Albuquerque, except to fill out the roster? It's not like he's part of Florida's future. Kinkade is starting to get old, it's likely he will be in Korea soon, as speculated above.

Looking at that Florida Marlins' record (6-15) I can't believe they just don't call up their AAA team and send the Major league team to AAA. I know for a fact they wouldn't do any worse than the team that is up there has done. They are pathetic.

Korea would be a good fit for Kinkade, or even heading back to Japan. I heard though, that once a guy plays in Japan and goes back to the States, he isn't allowed or "welcomed" back to Japan. Does anyone know more about this?

It's called, expected. No one expected Florida to compete this year with the departure of many stars. Florida is basically playing with the future in mind, they will be competing again in a few years.

I'm not so sure about that either, as Fernando Seguignol, Rick Short, and Jason Beverlin are some players who left, only to return. If Kinkade can continue to have good numbers in AAA, a team in Japan might give Kinkade a try.

Do you truely believe they don't expect to win? Then, it is obvious you are neither a business man nor an athlete. It's about generating revenue and making money while watching your team win! Marks my words, if the Marlins know what is good for them they will be making moves all year long, including trades so that they can win more games. That's the name of the game.

The Marlins' 25 man roster has 11 rookies on it, 7 of those make up the starting 8 fielders. The entire payroll is 15 million USD.

The owners are looking to move the team to San Antonio if the city will not agree to a new baseball only stadium.

For Kinkade fans, after 21 games: .290-2-7, .380 OBA, .452 SLG in AAA.

I never said the players didn't expect to win, but the Marlins have a lot of rookies on the team, and well, aren't realistically going to compete.

As for business, the Marlins right now are all about business, until Florida can get a stadium deal it will be about business, payroll will have to be cut until then with the future in the mind.

It's a lot closer to home and a call away from The Show. It's called hope and dreams.

A Japanese team should give him another opportunity. That would be better than AAA.

I definately agree that a Japanese team should give him another try. We didn't even get to see him play over here. I would rather see him play in Japan over Korea. I wish him well.

Looks like Mr. Mike Kinkade will be making the AAA All-Star team from what I have seen on the Internet (www.minorleaguebaseball.com). He is third in the league in batting avg. and is hitting .355! Do you think he has a chance to go back to Japan?

Heck, if he keeps hiting like that, he's going to Miami.

Mike did his time in Japan and was discarded like old dishwater. Wish him to a place he really wants to go - MLB.
