This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Hawks can see PL finish line after victory
The SoftBank Hawks are looking down on the rest of the Pacific League and staring right in the face of their 15th PL title.
Seiichi Uchikawa had three hits and three RBIs, and Katsuki Yamazaki had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in a run as the Hawks won their three-game showdown with second place Nippon Ham 4-3 at FYJ Dome on Sunday.
The team’s magic number to win the title is 15.
Tadashi Settsu (12-8) worked seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits with 10 Ks. The righty walked one and hit a batter.
BUFFALOES 7, MARINES 6
Alfredo Figaro (7-6) steadied the ship after a rough start, going 5.1 scoreless innings, and Orix rebounded from a 5-0 deficit to top Lotte at The Q.
Keiji Obiki knocked in the go-ahead run in a three-run seventh, and Aarom Baldiris homered for the second consecutive day.
LIONS 2, EAGLES 1
Tukumi Kuriyama’s clutch single in the ninth lifted host Seibu past Rakuten to win their three-game series.
Veteran Fumiya Nishiguchi (9-6) went the distance, allowing a run on five hits and three walks -- holding Rakuten to one hit over the final five innings. He fanned five as the Lions improved to 11-3-1 this month.
CENTRAL LEAGUE
BAYSTARS 4, SWALLOWS 2
Kentaro Takasaki (5-12) went 8.2 innings, holding front-running Yakult to two runs and Yokohama escaped with a win at Jingu.
GIANTS 4, DRAGONS 0
Shun Tono (6-10) tossed eight shutout innings and Shinnosuke Abe and Josh Fields both homered in the seventh inning as Yomiuri blanked Chunichi at The Big Egg.
TIGERS 6, CARP 3
Tomoaki Kanemoto homered twice and drove in three runs as Hanshin downed Hiroshima at The Zoom.
Kanemoto has hit double figures in homers for all of his 18 consecutive seasons, and tied the all-time record for hitting at least 10 homers in a year for a player who turns 43 that season.
