I'm looking for any information I can find about Kaoru Betto, a member of the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.

His reign was short, but he was an exceptionally good ball player.

Graduate of the prestiguous Keio University Betto was a gentleman ball player. He tore up the league in 1950, earning an MVP award by helping the Mainichi Orions win the Nippon Series. He was a very respected baseball mind both as a manager and commentator after he retired.

Just a note about those stats: Where it lists Runs, it should actually read, "Total Bases" and where is gives the abbreviation "SLA" it should be "SLG."

A friend of mine was his catcher in High School.
