Kyuji Fujikawa?

Discussion in the Rumor Mill forum
Kyuji Fujikawa?
How many more years until Kyuji Fujikawa is a free agent?

And how likely are the Tigers to post him before his time is up?

Thanks again!

Fujikawa [Sponichi - in Japanese] will be a free agent in a little less than 6 years. As of right now he only has 3.133 years of service time.

It's very unlikely the Tigers will post Fujikawa until maybe his last few years if they do. Though in my opinion seeing as Fujikawa is one of the most dominant relievers in NPB, I say they probably won't post him.

He has asked to be posted, but hasn't been appeased yet.

I realize that this is an old thread, but I just need to add this.

Hi, I play in a US long term roto keeper league and have Fujikawa on my roster. I was wondering if there is any update since his request to be posted. Is there any chance this will happen within the next couple of years?

Thanks.

Very unlikely, Hanshin management has told him that they will not post him under any circumstances, since he's not only the face of the Hanshin Tigers, but a treasure of Japanese baseball.

Fujikawa [Sponichi - in Japanese] will not be a free agent at the earliest till after the 2012 season. So no, I know this isn't what you want to hear, but their is no incentive for Hanshin to post Fujikawa at the current moment.
