Sponichi is carrying a story that the Boston Red Sox also offered Igarashi a 2-year deal worth US$2-3M. The article also adds that the Phillies are in the hunt as well.

It would appear that the Mets have won the battle to acquire his services. The Mets pen is a mess so this should be a very good opportunity for Igarashi to step right into a set-up role.
