Melvin Nieves
After heading back to the States, Nieves was invited to the Colorado Rockies' spring training camp, but did not make the 40-man roster. He spent few months in the minors, but was released during mid-season and is currently playing in the Independent League.

Melvin is my little league coach right now in North Carolina. He's awesome! From my understanding, he had an arm injury, but when he gets better you may just see him back in the big leagues!
Our team is so lucky to have Melvin Nieves as our coach! He is teaching us so much! He is such a great coach! What a lucky break for the little league "Braves"! 2007
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
