Norichika Aoki 2nd in NPB History to Reach 200 Hits
On October 11th at Jingu Stadium, Yakult Swallows' center fielder Norichika Aoki became just the second person in NPB history to collect 200 hits in a season. In the bottom of the first inning against Yokohama's Ken Kadokura, Aoki took a first pitch fastball and punched it through the right side of the infield for hit number 200. Ichiro Suzuki is the only other player to collect 200+ hits (210 hits in 1994) in a season, but he collected the 210 in just 130 games. Aoki collected hit number 200 in game number 145.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
