Norichika Aoki Sets New Singles Record
Earlier in the season Hanshin's Norihiro Akahoshi set a new singles record (thread here), but during the October 9th game against Yokohama, Yakult's Norichika Aoki hit 2 singles, giving him 166 on the year, breaking the NPB record previously set by Akahoshi at 165.

(*note: Akahoshi broke the record with #152, and finished the season with 165.)

Aoki also broke another record during that game, the Central League record for multi-hit games. Last year Hiroshima's Shigenobu Shima set the CL record for multi-hit games at 60, and with Aoki's 2 singles on September 9th, the mark is now 61 multi-hit games.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
