Longest NPB Losing Streak
Now that the Kansas City Royals are approaching the Major League record for most consecutive losses, what's the NPB record for most consecutive losses?

The Chiba Lotte Marines set this record when they lost 18 in a row between June 13 and July 8, 1998.

The scene where Kuroki gave up a gyakuten home run in the 18th game (against Kintetsu) and became overwhelmed on the mound was shown during the game last Sunday when "Johny" returned to the mound after about a year's absense. It's hard to forget that scene.

It seemed like more and more fans went out to cheer Lotte on with each successive loss. The more they lost, the more support they gathered. Losing has a bizarre appeal to many people. It feels good to cheer for the underdog.
