Kroon Hits 162

Kroon Hits 162
Against the Giants just minutes earlier at Tokyo Dome, Yokohama's Kroon hit 162 kph against Horita. The ball was hit right back at Kroon, who caught the ball in reflex. Kroon looked a little shaken up by that come-backer, and Saeki came over to give him a couple words of encouragement.

Once settled down, Kroon climbed the mound and got the final out of the game, giving the winning ball to starter Doi who won his 8th game in a row against the Giants.

Nikkan Sports has an article writing that a Tokyo Dome employee stated, "there's a high possibility that the radar gun recorded the batted ball." The article also states that the record was not changed to 162/kph. [Full Story - Nikkan Sports - in Japanese]
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
