Japan Loses to Lions

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Japan Loses to Lions
Nabe-Q continues to taunt Hara-kantoku. First he beat the Giants in the Japan Series last November. Now his Saitama Seibu Lions defeat the Japan WBC Team 7-2 at Tokyo Dome.

Personally, I think that the Japan team needed a reality check before entering the tournament. The self confidence boost that they got by walloping the Australians was a bit more than they needed. (Close games would have been good.) Hopefully this loss to the Lions will be it.

None of Darvish, Matsuzaka, or Ichiro have impressed in the warm up games. Watanabe even squeezed on Hara using Hara. That is not a coincidence!

Yeah, hopefully so. Australia was its B-team (domestic players only?) and the Lions used bench players and minor leaguers for more than half the game.
